I don’t know about you, but I get my best ideas from reading and paying attention to what’s going on around me. That’s why I was excited to read an article in the December/January issue of Inc. Magazine that featured “5 New Niches That Are Heating Up Fast.” All of these niches have great implications for increasing your promotional products sales. Here are three you can bank on now.
- Personal Health: According to the Inc. article, an important trend to note is that “In 2013, consumers will increasingly turn to digital tools to monitor and improve their health through exercise, sleep and diet.” With that in mind, think about promotional items such as pedometers, stress balls and performance apparel. Take the time to jot down a list of clients that can benefit from having their logo associated with these items. Also, think about wellness programs, which will be increasing important this year and can help cut your customer’s insurance costs.
- Real Stuff, Made in the USA: Manufacturing costs abroad are going up and safety issues abound in our industry. Many of our suppliers are turning to USA-produced items and using safety guidelines that are increasing important to your accounts. Mention your commitment to USA, safely made items and you’re sure to get more sales.
- Online Education: According to the article in Inc., “Expect to see lots of innovation in this area.” If education is one of your target markets, ask if the institutions you’re calling on have an online program. If they do, promotional items can play a big part in promoting those programs and increasing the enrollment.
